House Beautiful Kitchen of the Year 2011

Love this rack with pots and pans

It's another friday weekend again.  I can't believe how the week flew by.  It's been a busy week for me, working on 3 bathroom design for a client in [Manhattan] New york city, and putting together a color scheme for a newlywed couple in Maryland, they just bought their house and are settling in slowly.  And next I will be tackling there Living Room Design via my E-decor service.

I was also at the Caesarstone party yesterday,  where they partnered with House Beautiful kitchen of the Year 2011,  they supplied the countertop for the kitchen.   Can you spot Tyler Florence in the 1st picture above?

How was your week, did you had a busy week, and felt that the days just flew by?  Leave me a comment and let me know how your week went.

And here are some musings for the weekend:

2. Take a home tour of the fabulous house of Made by Girl - A glimpse into my home
3. Check out Hannah Rawlings Textile and see how she translates drawings into fabrics, simply fantastic - From drawings to weaves

8 Things I bought at Brimfield

Hi, everyone and welcome back!  Hope you had a great weekend!  My weekend was great at the Brimfield Antique Market.   I had such a great time on this trip with two of my girlfriends.  We laughed a lot, ate a lot and we even got some astrological reading from a Turkish guy selling Suzani's and repurposed rugs at one of the fields.  Found some great buys that I took home.

1.  Colorful rooster pin - this is for my sister, she was born in the year of the Rooster, and this colorful pin suits her very well, it's as colorful and happy as her personality.

2.  Bag with classic lines, I always wanted a bag like this one, and I finally got one for just $1.  Love the shape and the lines of the bag.  But it was the yellow lining that did me in.

3.  Four linen place mats with a hand embroidered art deco design which I am planning to turn into pillow covers with yellow trims

4. Pierre Cardin linen table cloth for only $5, such a steal.  The colors, pink and blue are so summery that it will make a great picnic blanket.

5.  Pink bead necklace, love at first sight.  Love the swirls and different tones of  pink on the beads.

6. The shape and the color of the eggs were enchanting,  so nice, smooth and shiny.

7. Pendant - love the unusual design with the sphere

8. Gorgeous soap wrappings from Crabtree and Evelyn

How was your weekend?  Did you visited any market?

Why buy a rug just paint the floor!

Love how they grounded and pull the seating area together by painting the floor in a black and white zig zag pattern to mimic a rug.  Great Idea.

Would you paint your floors to mimic a rug?

Picnic blankets and Rugs

Picnic blankets and rugs that caught my eye at the Jazz Age fest at Governor's Island.  They were as interesting as the outfits and hats that I saw.

The crocheted Sunflower one is my favorite, which one is your favorite?

Friday...Link Loves

In 33 days I will be on vacation in Egypt visiting Cairo and taking a cruise on the Nile, and then to Tanzania for a once in a lifetime Safari trip.  I can't wait to go and take in all the beauty that both countries have to offer.  But in the meantime,

Enjoy a tour from Belgium  via A brooklyn limestone
Marvel at the beauty of Camelback mountains via Full house
Wonder at the beauty of Sedona via style/SWOON

Have a great weekend everyone!

Inspirations...Roman Gladiators

Love the color scheme with the brass ornaments

Note the pleats on this skirt  and the way its drapes - Marvelous

Love the leather detail on the protective sleeve - can be translated and used as hooks for drapes

This design would look fantastic on a closet door or a tall entrance door to a house.

Animal Attraction and some Brass

Visited the Brooklyn Flea market, and found some very interesting animal figure that I was attracted to.  I love decorating with animals, there is just something intriguing about them.  They just add unexpected touches to any decor.

The cobra candelabra and the belt buckle are my favorites. The belt buckle would look amazing as door handles on a stand alone closet with clean lines in an Orange color with some texture.   Which one is your favorite, and would you add an animal figure into your decor?
