Blogs for Digs...My childhood bedroom was...

Hello, and welcome to Blogs for Digs: " My childhood bedroom was..." creating awareness and benefiting Dwell for Dignity. As an interior designer, I believe in Dwell with Dignity's mission, to help the less fortunate families create a warm and beautiful home to escape poverty and homelessness through design one household at a time.
My childhood bedroom was not my ideal bedroom, but nonetheless I had great memories of it. My childhood bedroom was in Aruba, it was a brand new house that my parents built and it already came decorated for us with walnut paneled walls and a creamy yellow boucle window treatment. I had to share the room with my brother, and had no say in how I wanted to decorate my bedroom, or in furniture choices. The piece of furniture that I really wanted was a bunk bed. I thought that a bunk bed was the coolest thing ever, that we could climb up and down the bed. Sadly my mom opposed it. She thought is was dangerous for us kids. So I grew up with no bunk bed, but with walnut wood panels.
If I could have decorated my room it would look more like this:
With Lilac striped walls
This bunk bed.
Pandora Bunk Bed by Julien bowen
This ceiling Pendant.
Adler Pendant from Restoration Hardware
And with this Lilac drapes.
Kids bedroom that are inspiring me now:
A very girly room, got to love that chandelier and that wallpaper is to die for!
