Great buys of the week

Hey there, and welcome back to my first edition of great buys of the week.  I have personally selected these items that I am coveting this week and hopefully you will see something that you like or were looking for.

First on are these great polished aluminum antler hooks that will surely add a bit of rocker glam to any entry way or if you want to be more adventurous hang the 2 hooks in a three by three grid to create an interesting focal point.

Second, I love it when I find products that looks great and are also multifunctional.  I can think of so many ways to use them, as an ice cream or dessert bowl, as a catchall for the entry way or on the bedside table, as a vase for fresh flowers, or to display little items on your desk.

Third, these wire basket, beside from  looking good, are a great addition to any home, they serve as a nice storage for your craft paper, they can store bottles of water or logs, store blankets or towels in the bathroom, or if you are having an outdoor pick nick with friends and family this can be used as a carry all.

Fourth, I always loved this rug, it's perfect for any season of the year because it has such great colors, for the summer it brings in summer colors and the summery feeling that we want, and for the colder months it brings in some warmth to the space, and it feels great under the feet.

Fifth, if you were looking for that special piece to hang the that special art work that you bought, look no further, this acrylic tripod easel from CB2 is fabulous. This is definitely a statement piece that will go well at a corner of the living to display that art.

And last, I was walking around chinatown yesterday and discovered this chair on the corner of Centre and Broome street in Puro-Chile
At Puro-Chile they sell and promote Chilean products. They have a great collection of products all made by Chilean artists, like jewelries, furniture, and home accessories.  In addition they have great Chilean food products and wine.  It's well worth a trip there if you are in New York.
But back to the chair above, it was love at first sight.  The chair is is so comfortable, and I love the detail of the magazine holder attached to it.  And can you believe it the seat is made out of salmon leather, how great is that, it has a great texture to it and feels very durable and luxurious.  What attracted me to the chair is actually the texture of the chair, in my opinion that really makes the chair pop.  And the poufs are a great addition to the chair and to any space too.

So, thank you for stopping by again, and I will see you all back next week.  I will be in Disney Orlando next week for some time off and some fun, but I have prepared great posts for you all.  So stay tuned for Monday where I will bring you tips on decorating on a shoestring budget, my artsy wednesday edition featuring some artworks that I am loving at this moment, and on Friday my color inpirations, which will be a feast for the eye.

Have a nice weekend everyone, and I'll see you back on Monday.

Artsy Wednesday...Willy Rojas

Hi there, it's Wednesday and I am feeling giggly today because of the artist that I am featuring today, Willy Rojas.  Willy Rojas is a Colombian born photographer and now resides in Barcelona, Spain.   I discovered him this year at the Affordable Art fair here in NYC and instantly fell in love with his work.  I just stood there admiring his work for ten minutes, and figuring out why it draws me in so much, his work was totally speaking to me,  the burst of colors, the humor and his use of everyday fruits and objects, it brought me right back to my childhood where I used to play with plastic dolls and kitchen sets pretending to cook in a  make believe world.  I hope when you see these pictures it will transport you to a happy place, like it did for me.

So, how did these pictures or the ones in his portfolio make you feel?

I would love to own a series of his photograph some day.  I can already envision them as a grouping of three by three in rows or grids on a wall at the dining area or as a backdrop behind the headboard in the kids bedroom or on a wall in the kids play area. How awesome would this be?

Enjoy your day and I will see you back here on Friday with my great buys of the week.

And thank you for stopping by.
